Two Years of The Yoga Den: Trusting the Process
It’s hard to believe The Yoga Den has been open for two whole years.
This little studio tucked away in my back garden started as a dream a quiet idea my husband had and quietly and persistently he convinced me. I then nurtured this idea until one day, we flung the doors open and welcomed the very first students inside.
In those early days, I was met with kind advice and gentle warnings:
“Small businesses are hard.”
“Yoga studios are everywhere these days.”
“You’ll need to fight to be seen.”
And yes, the reality was and still is that it takes work. But I also knew, deep down, that what I was offering had value. Not because it was trendy, or perfect, or shiny. But because it was real. And rooted in care. And created with love.
So I put my head down, stayed true to my intention, and trusted the process.
Looking back, I wish I’d trusted myself even sooner. I wish I had turned down the noise of social media, stopped watching what everyone else was doing, and followed my heart from the beginning. Because over time, that’s exactly what I did. And that’s when everything started to feel right.
What I’ve learned in these two years is that it takes time to attract the right people. But when they come… they stay. And they bring so much beauty and energy with them.
The people who walk through the doors each week, who support the events, who show up with open hearts and kind souls, they are The Yoga Den. They are the reason it feels the way it does. Like a sanctuary. Like a shared exhale.
So as I close the studio for the summer, I just want to say thank you. Truly.
Thank you for believing in this space.
Thank you for allowing me to share what I love.
And thank you for being part of something so special.
I’ll be back in September, rested, inspired, and ready for another magical year.
With all my heart,
Gen x
